DC2364 Demo Board is not receiving (can Tx but no Rx)

Category: Hardware
Product Number: DC2364

I am trying to use the DC2364 demo board to make sure I can send and receive 485 data before integrating LTC2873 on my 485/232 comms board. I have set up the jumpers correctly on the demo board and using a single 3.3V supply. The DI and RO are driven by a uC from an external board. I can send 485 data via uC (haven't tested 232 yet) but cannot receive any data. WIth an oscilloscope, I can confirm incoming data on A/DO & B/RI pins but nothing shows up on the RO pin. What am I doing wrong here? Any help is greatly appreciated. I have inserted the photo of the demo board showing the jumper positions.

Thanks

  • Hi Gaminid,

Your jumper settings look correct if you connect both VL and VCC to a 3.3V supply, half-duplex mode without termination. Can you verify the voltage level on /RE485\ pin? This should confirm whether the receiver is enabled or not. If the voltage level on /RE485\ pin is low, can you please send a scope shot including the receiver inputs (A/DO & B/RI) and output (RO) signals?
