Magnetic field resistance

Category: Hardware
Product Number: ADUM340E

Do you have figures concerning the magnetic field resistance of the ADUM340E in a DC or AC field? I need a resistance of 100mT better 200mT.

Thanks for your feedback.

Regards Thorsten

  • Hi Thorsten,

Apologies for the delay here. The ADuM340E is designed to operate in extreme electromagnetic conditions and has improvements in many key EMC/ Robustness specifications such as radiated immunity (IEC6100-4-20) and Direct Power Injection (IEC62132-4). I will check with the design team/EMC lab concerning magnetic field resistance figures and let you know. Any additional information on the target application and respective standard you are testing to would also help here.

    Best Regards,

  • Hi Thorsten,

Just a follow up here. Our latest (3rd Gen) digital isolator family, ADuM34x use a fully differential structure for its transceiver and on chip transformers such that any noise generated by external magnetic fields will be cancelled out. For 200mT, you are realistically looking for magnetic field strength immunity of up to 2kGuass. If the magnetic field frequency is less than 2 MHz, then this device will meet your 200mT requirement.

    Best Regards,

    Ger
