ADuM7441 or ADuM7442 - what's the Vox in case of Vix Input is open and VDDI and VDDO are powered, H or L?

Category: Datasheet/Specs
Product Number: ADum7442 and ADum7441

From the table 19 (Truth Table) in datasheet of ADuM7440_7441_7442, I cannot find the description that when V1x Input is open, VDDI and VDDO are powered, what's the VOx will be? H or L?

  • Hi Jimmysz,

If the input is left floating and under the conditions you describe, the output side will be low, however there may be scenarios where  the output of the floating channel can switch from L to H as the input is not controlled.

One such case would be due to noise picked up on the input pin.

I would recommend tying the input pin of the unused channel to local ground or local vdd.

    Best Regards,

    Shane
