Can we apply the device of ADUM6020-3 BRIZ on the condition of the VDDP 5V?

Although operational, it is not suggested to utilize a 5V input supply with the ADuM6020-3BRIZ.

The potential for exceeding the absolute max output voltage is increased since the internal conversion ratio is tailored for 3.3V to 5V. The amount of overshoot is dependent on many factors including load capacitance, load and input voltage sequencing. Also, the quiescent current will be higher along with lower conversion efficiency. The table on page 12 of the datasheet says this configuration is not recommended. The performance needs to be verified on the application since this configuration is not production tested.

      We do appreciate for your early reply. We can understand that the overshoot and quiescent current would be somewhat disappointed in comparison to the standard state. Under your description, can we comprehend it as a reliability effect? Additionally, the table on page No.12 of the datasheet actually present the case that the configuration of 3.3 V input supply & 5 V output is not recommended, since the power-conversion efficiency needs to be increased (but the maximum of power-conversion efficiency may be limitedly fixed or cannot be achieved) from our own knowledge. We are sorry for that, it is possible that our expression is not clear, the table does not give the application situation we proposed at the operation of 5 V input supply & 3.3 V output on the device of ADUM6020-3BRIZ.

I apologize for the misunderstanding. As for operation in a mode that is not specified in the parametric tables we can make no guarantees, if the part operation is validated in the application and remains within the absolute maximum ratings, then reliability should not be compromised.
