LTC2870 Auto Direction Control

Can you provide us more detail about your questions, such as what mode you plan to use, and which ports in interest? And what do you mean by auto direction?  In RS-232 mode, the output is  no bi-directional. In RS-485 mode, only in half-duplex mode, XY can be driver inputs or receiver inputs depending on RXEN/ and DXEN set. Please refer to its datasheet for details. Also we do have an evkit for the device, which is DC1786A. The User Guide can be found in the link below.
