CAN ADUM241D1BRIZ used for level translation from +3.3V to -3.3V

Hi, 

The ADuM241D (or any standard data isolator) cannot be used as shown in the circuit above. This would violate the Abs Max Rating on the VDD2 pin.

Hi, 

An digital isolator can have a fixed voltage difference between GND1 and GND2. This would of course defeat the galvanic isolation typically provided, but the isolator would function, and it would allow levels to be shifted between domains. What an application cannot do is place GND2 at a higher voltage potential than VDD2

I assumed the voltage VCC_RX_3V3N is greater than GND... Is that the case in this application?

Sorry my bad, VCC_RX_3V3N = -3.3V which is lesser than GND. So if VDD2 (0V) is at higher potential than GND2 (-3.3V). Can we use for this particular translation.

Thanks for clarifying the voltage level. I take back my statement above, the isolator will operate in that circuit. It does obviously defeat any safety function an isolator would have held, but that will work fine for translating the levels.
