LTC2858 vs LTC2852

Hi,

Can LTC2852 be used in lieu of LTC2858? Will supplying 5V to LTC2852 cause any adverse effects? Both parts have the same absolute maximum electrical ratings according to the datasheet.

I'm asking because there is a part shortage of LTC2858.

  • Hi,

Abs max rating is not the same as nominal operating range. LTC2852 operates on 3.3V supplies. VCC on this part can be from 3V to 3.6V.  Stresses beyond those listed under Absolute Maximum Ratings may cause permanent damage to the device and may affect device reliability and lifetime. Are you using the 10 ld DFN or the 10 ld MSOP package in your design?
