ADN4654/5 for DisplayPort

Hi ADI Expert,

My customer would like to implement the LVDS isolator ADN4654/5 in the DisplayPort, May I have your confirm for this application is workable? Thanks.

Best regards.

Ray.

    Hi Ray,

I would recommend using some video conversion to send the video stream through multiple ADN4654; as the ADN4654 is limited to 1.1 Gbps, while DisplayPort requires 1.62 Gbps minimum.

Also DisplayPort would require the control data to be isolated too. It uses the AUX channel, which is a bidirectional differential signal, so it isn't easy to build a circuit to isolate that. Using a different protocol would suit better.

We do have a reference design, CN0422, for isolating HDMI for example, and if the resolution is limited to 720p, this will work with ADN4654. With HDMI the I2C isolators ADuM1251 can be used.

    Best regards,
