About ESD withstand voltage of LTC486

Hi,

I want to adopt LTC486.
I have one question, can you tell me?

Question:

Can you tell me the withstand voltage for ESD protection of LTC486 output pin?
Is ±2kV stated in the data sheet a withstand voltage for all pins?
Or does it only apply to input pins?

Best Regards,

Naohisa

  • Hi Naohisa,

+/-2kV applies to all pins for Human Body Model (for IC handling in lab/assembly environment). For the bus pins connecting to an external connector, a TVS or other additional protection components will be needed for system-level protection (e.g. IEC 61000-4-2).

We also have a dual transmit, dual receiver product ADM4168E which has built-in system level ESD protection (+/-8kV IEC 61000-4-2).
