ADM3054 Input Waveform for CANH/CANL

Hello,

I have a question about a input waveform of ADM3054 from my customer.

Are there any problem when we input like a following figure waveform to CANH/CANL of ADM3054? It has large overshoot. The customer has no connection problem. He would like to confirm it is cause of the problem or not.

    Hi Akira, 

    What is the configuration of the bus and location of terminations? 

    If this project is in the prototype phase, they could consider an isolated transceiver like the ADM3056E which has an RS pin. The slope control mode will reduce the slew rate of the recessive to dominant transitions. All things remaining the same, this will reduce the overshoot on the bus.

    It is difficult to change the IC from now. This project is pre-production now but mass-production will be start soon. First of all, the customer would like to know if the overshoot have an impact on CAN communication and radiation noise. If it is cause of communication error, he will change the PCB layout.
