ADN4654 LDO input range

ADN4654 include LDO.

LDO recommend input range is ~3.6V

I'd like to use by 5V, would you move?

(It's below the biggest absolute rating.)

    Hi,

    6.5V on Vin1/Vin2 is an absolute maximum rating only. The main obstacle to operating the LDO at 5V in would be thermal limitations of the package (there could be up to an extra 0.25W if both sides are operated this way). Also reliability, production test, etc. for the ADN4654 assumes maximum 3.6V on Vin1/Vin2 per the specification tables.

    The most efficient solution in this application is probably to use the ADN4654 with the LDO bypassed (2.5V to all supply pins) and use an external buck regulator for 5V to 2.5V. If you require an isolated DC-DC, ADuM5028/ADuM6028 is a compact 8-pin wide SOIC capable of offering 300 mW in 5V to 5V configuration (5V Viso can be converted to 2.5V by an efficient buck regulator, so there will be sufficient current for ADN4654 Vin2/Vdd2). We've used ADP5302 in circuits with ADN4654 for 5V to 2.5V.
