EVAL-ADUM3150z board

We would be interested in using an ADuM4150ARIZ SPI insulator device. Unfortunately, the only evaluation board for SPI insulators that is available from Analog Devices (the EVAL-ADUM3150z) comes with a 3150 chip on board. Does anyone know whether Analog Devices (or any other company) sells an SPI insulator evaluation board with a 4150 series device on board? Alternatively, does anyone know whether it is possible to purchase an SPI evaluation board with NO chip (i.e. JUST the board)?

Thanks in advance for any information.

  • Hi Torino,

You can use an ADuM3150 to evaluate an ADuM4150. Refer to the EVAL-ADuM3150Z User Guide Geneneral Description section. Just to summarize it, the devices differ by high voltage capabilities. Plus the eval boards have no guards to keep a user from coming in contact with the high voltage, so its not recommended to have over 60V difference between the sides on the eval boards. (Stay safe!)

There are differences between the A-grade and B-grade. The EVAL-ADuM3150Z actually has the B-grade installed. You could desolder and install an A-grade on the board. But unfortunately, there is not an unpopulated board available currently.

    Regards,
