Article ADuM5000 DC-DC shutdown

Question

How do I turn a single ADuM5000 on and off from a 3.3 V digital output. Do I
need to tie RCsel, RCin and RCout all low? Does it need to be ‘Open collector’
with a transistor/fet?

Answer

The ADuM5000 states are shown in Table 13 below. The 6th state is the low power
mode, but I would instead recommend that you use RCsel = L for ON and H for
off, RCin = L always, and RCout = open. This will avoid the not allowed 7th
state, and avoids ever grounding the RCout output. You can use normal digital
logic, open collector is not needed.
