ADIN2111 power consumption

I am interested in estimates for average power consumption for the ADIN2111 in various states, to assess whether it can fit the power budget for a particular product. I have a few questions related to expected power consumption.

The ADIN2111 datasheet lists mentions 3 modes of interest: "100% data throughput, full activity", software power-down mode, and hardware power-down mode. It gives expected consumption (depending on supply and voltage configuration) for two of those modes -- full activity, and software power-down mode, summarized here:

  1. It sounds like in software power-down mode, the two PHY links are completely deactivated. Is that correct?
  2. What is the expected average consumption in powered-up mode, but with links idling (not transmitting or receiving)?
  3. Do you have any advice for lowering the average power consumption for a system composed of several daisy-chained ADIN2111s (if we want average consumption close to what's listed for software power-down mode)? Is it possible to keep them in software power-down mode, but have them wakeup and sync on a regular interval?
  4. What is the expected consumption in hardware power-down mode?

    To answer your queries:

    1. Yes, in software power-down, the PHY links are deactivated.
    2. The power consumption in powered-up mode but with links idling is in the same order as the links active and sending data, as once the links are active, there is activity involved.
    3. When in software power-down the links are not active so there is no option to use the Ethernet link to wake up the part and synch-up.
    4. When in hardware power-down mode, the expected consumption of the part is negligible as it is because of the leakage currents in the device.
