My customer is looking at the ADIN1300 PHY and would like to implement PTP. As far as I can tell, the PHY doesn't contain an adjustable time of day clock and timestamping hardware, and would this to be done in an external chip. The customer has already decided on their processor, so adding a DSP like the ADSP-SC572x and ADSP-SC58x that contains a PTP TSYNC module is not an option. Is there Gigabit PHY on the roadmap that does PTP timestamping or an external timestamping chip that ADI is aware of that would perform this task?
