Network Connection Issue with EVAL-ADIN3310EBZ (SO 417395)

Thread Summary

The user is unable to connect EVAL-ADIN3310EBZ to their wireless devices, with the software not showing any connections. The final solution involves ensuring the correct Ethernet adapter is selected in the GUI, as the GUI needs this configuration to send messages. The user must also configure the switch after each power cycle or reset. The user confirmed a physical 1000Mbps connection but still encountered issues, suggesting a need to verify all steps in the Eval user guide.

  • Hi Dan Lee,

Thank you for reaching out to us!

Could you please confirm if NPCAP is installed? From the attached screenshots, it appears that the Ethernet adapter is not selected for SES1. Could the customer please select the appropriate Ethernet interface and try again?

Also, could you please share more details about the customer, their end application, the protocols of interest, and any other relevant information?

    Regards,
    Himanshu

  • Hello Himanshu,

Thank you for your reply. Please see the customer's response below and advise. Please let me know if you need further information as well. Thank you!

    Per customer:

I will send you a screenshot to confirm that Npcap is installed.

I connected it to both of the built-in Ethernet adapters on my Windows PC, but it didn't even recognize the device. At this point, I connected Port 0 on the EVM to the host.

    Best regards,

    Dan Lee

  • Hi Dan Lee,

    Thank you for the update.

Could you please confirm whether the Evaluation application has correctly identified the Ethernet interface as shown below:

If yes, can we ask the customer to select the correct Ethernet interface, click on the 'Ethernet Adapter' section of SES1 as shown below, and try again:

Let us know if the customer is still experiencing any issues while running the Evaluation application.

    Regards,
    Himanshu

  • Hello Himanshu,

Could you please kindly review the updates from the custoemer as follows and advise? Thanks.

    Per customer:

I've already confirmed in the past that neither of these are working.

Looking at photo (1), you can see that the PC and ADI board are physically connected, establishing a 1000Mbps connection.

However, communication does not work as shown in picture (2). The port is connected to Port 0 of ADI3310.

    Best regards,

    Dan Lee

  • Hi Dan Lee,

Could we confirm whether the customer has followed all the steps correctly as mentioned in the Eval user guide under the sections Software Installation and Software Execution?

    Regards,
    Himanshu

  • This question has been addressed offline.

When the GUI is first run, it will need user to configure it by selecting which Network Adapter is connected to the port on the switch, user must ensure they click in the area called "Ethernet Adapter" after that, the GUI will automatically populate the Ethernet Adaptor section, like in the image shown below. If they do not assign the adaptor, then the GUI doesn't know where to send the messages.

After they do that, every time they come back to the GUI it will remember the last selection for Ethernet Adaptor. Note that the switch configuration is volatile, the switch must be configured after power cycle or reset.
