Run ADIN1200 Ethernet Compliance Tests with Link Partner MLT-3 encoded idle pattern

Category: Hardware
Product Number: ADIN1200

At the moment I am performing Ethernet Compliance tests with a hardware containing the ADIN1200.

The ADIN1200 is connected to the Beckhoff EtherCAT ASIC ET1100 and is configured by the strapping pins.

Since the PHY is behind the ASIC we do not have access to the PHY register to generate the required test pattern by the PHY itself as described in the following link:

https://wiki.analog.com/resources/eval/user-guides/adin1300-and-adin1200/adin1200-ieee-compliance-test-mode-access

Normally, the PHY can be also set to generate the MLT-3 encoded idle pattern by the link partner.

This is working on all our designs with other 100BASE-TX PHYs including our design with ADIN1300.

Does anybody know why the ADIN1200 does not replies the idle pattern when emitting the idle pattern on the link partner?

I also have already flipped the polarity and also tested a crossover adapter. Nothing helps.

Thanks for all the help.
