KCC's Quiz AQQ293 about finding the cat

That's an easy one :-). The cat is in box 2. Then statements 1 and 2 are wrong, but statement 3 is true.

The quiz can be answered by a simple truth table

( * ) represents that the cat is present in the box, T/F represents wether the statement is true or not

Only the second row have one True statement there fore the cat is in the second box.

The cat is in box #2 as this is the only case where you have just one statement true and the other two false (the true statement is the one attached to box #3).

If box #1 is true
* Box #2 is true <-- therefore cannot be #1
* Box #3 is false

If box #2 is true
* Box #1 must be false therefore the cat is in box #3
* Box #3 would be true if Box #1 is false <-- cannot be #2

If box #3 is true
* Box #1 is false
* Box #2 must be false therefore the cat is in #2

Therefore the cat must be in box #2

The cat is in the box #2.

I have started with box number 3 to be true, because there are 2 possibilities: cat is in the #2 or #3. Assume it is in #2, first 2 statements are false. Thus,  is in  2.
