Connecting AD-FMCOMMS3-EBZ to IIO Oscilloscope using KC705 Carrier Board

Can you run ifconfig and then dmesg | grep -i -e fail -e warning -e error in the terminal connected through UART to the FPGA?

I tried using the IP shown in the output in the IIO to connect manually but I am getting this error:


The guide says: " In case the IP address is 192.168.2.2, this indicates that DHCP failed and it's now using it's default address.", which is very close to what I am seeing but not exactly.

Any ideas of where to go from here?

This is my output after trying to use the iio_info with the correct COM and settings. Getting the same " Function not implemented (38) " error as seen on the IIO application.


This is the last portion of my output after using just the iio_info command. Not sure if the PN Errors are worthy of concern but I thought I would add them just in case.

How are you connecting Ethernet to the board? Does it go to a router or directly to a PC?

The board's ethernet cable goes into my PC which is connected to a Dell docking station and the docking station is connected via ethernet to an ethernet wall jack.

Ok so if there is no router, then DHCP won't work. Therefore you need to do 2 things:

1. The connected NIC's address must be in the same subnet but the last octet must be different (192.168.2.X where X isn't 1)

2. In IIO-Scope the URI needs to include the interface type. You are missing the ip: before the address.

I apologize for not understanding fully, but in your first comment when you say the connected NIC's address must be different than 192.168.2.1, how am I to change that? Is it just on the IIO-Scope URI, or do I need to run a specific command in the PuTTY console?

Are you saying that I need to go into my PC network settings and manually set a new IPv4 that is 192.168.2.X?

Yes. Setting it to 192.168.2.2 would work. Just not 192.168.2.1

Hey Travis,

So I went on my network settings and selected the ethernet port being used for the KC705, but I am unsure what I should be putting for the subnet prefix, gateway, DNS, etc. It won't let me change the IP without at least some of those.

I'm sorry if this is trivial but I have not had experience with this before. I really appreciate your guidance!
