Failed to load the ADRV9009 profile when we added a custom DMAC into the Block Design

Hello, 

I'm using the ADRV9009 reference design for my project and we added some custom DMACs into the block design. Those DMACs are connected to a SXX_AXI Interface into the AXI SmartConnect (see image below). Since we added those DMACs into the project, we are not anymore able to update the ADRV9009 profile:

Does anyone have tried to used this reference design with adding some custom DMACs to the Block Design? 

Can I shared the resources of one ADRV9009 DMAC and one custom DMAC into the same SmartConnect?

    If yes, Do I have to split the memory address range for those input Interface in the FPGA project or the software will handle this?

Any information, details and Linux examples would be greatly appreciated.

    There is no validation done with the DMA that ca influence a profile loading. Your issue comes from somewhere else.

    What vivado version are you using?
    What FPGA/project?
    Is the profile you are loading a custom one?
    UART messages you get for entering
    dmesg
    jesd_status 

    For jesd_status  check all links Rx/RxOBS/Tx.

    Looks I got stuck at LINK_SUPPORTED state into the JESD204-FSM when I'm trying to upload the profile with my custom DMACs into this ADRV9009 reference design:

    Any idea how I can solve or investigate further this problem?

  • The device clock in that profile is too slow for HDL designs in master. Try one from here: https://github.com/analogdevicesinc/iio-oscilloscope/tree/master/filters/adrv9009 with 2x the device clocks.
