Generating other waveforms with AD9361 fmcomms3

AD9361 is an RF device, you can transmit modulated data (sinewaves), not triangles or square waves.

Have you seen a sine waveform on the osciloscope ?

I also want to observe a sine wave from sine_lut[] array values on my osciloscope. I am working with Zedboard and AD9361-FMCOMMS2-EBZ.

So I built the HDL project and software project in the folders: /fmcomms2/zed/ and /ad9361/ respectively.

To run in DMA mode, I uncommented  #define DAC_DMA_EXAMPLE in the file: app_config.h.
But I get the error in the main.c :

"struct 'ad9361_rf_phy' has no member named 'tx_dac_init'"

at the line: axi_dac_init(&ad9361_phy->tx_dac, ad9361_phy->tx_dac_init);

How to fix above error and generate a sine wave in the osciloscope ?
Please give me some advices ! Thank you very much !

Given that the signal is modulated, you won't be able to see sine waves on the oscilloscope.

Thank you for your reply !

I see that the values in sine_lut[] array are passed through ADI IP cores:  util_dac_upack -> util_dac_fifo -> axi_ad9361 before being transferred to AD9361 Transceiver.

Where is the data modulated in the datapath before it is sent into the air ?
