Proposed, New Analog Devices Data Sheets

Proposed, New Analog Devices Data Sheets

Shortly after Analog Devices acquired Maxim Integrated, documentation teams from both companies worked together to integrate technical documents into unified templates. Consistency in documentation leads to a better customer experience and enables automation which increases document throughput.

We've made some layout changes, enhanced the size of tables and images, and added standard 11 point Arial Narrow font. We believe that these changes enhance the usability and readability of our documents.

Spec table conditions replicated on top of each page

Spec table notes are large enough to read

Pin table shows all variants – a good thing if possible

All datasheets should have package drawings, ordering guide, and selector guide.  Otherwise it’s difficult to discern differences between parts on the same datasheet.

    Dislikes

    ToC should be clickable links

Overall text too narrow; feels crowded and difficult to read

No block diagram?  Every part should have a block diagram, like LTC datasheets

I prefer two-column text sections, especially if font is small like this.  Otherwise it’s difficult to find the beginning of the next line when reading.

  • I prefer the two column format as well. With just one column, the pictures get either too large or too small.
