Technology offers an unparalleled opportunity to reduce humanity’s impact on the planet, whether it be through smarter management of energy, reducing food waste in the supply chain, improving the performance of mass transit, or any number of burdens facing the world. Intelligent uses of FPGAs in edge and cloud computation have demonstrated reduced demand placed on our planet’s resources. The InnovateFPGA Design Contest seeks to explore solutions that lessens our environmental impact and the quantity of resources taken from our planet.

Because of this opportunity, it is critical that we as an industry nurture the best and brightest minds on their path to solving these challenges. This contest offers teams the chance to work with leading technology from Intel, Terasic, Microsoft, and Analog Devices to make technology at the edge smarter. We hope you’re as eager as we are to see what is created when technologists rise to the challenge of “engineering good.”

As you rise to the challenge, Analog Devices and our partners are providing our resources to deliver and assist on this bold goal. Contestants are invited to develop solutions that will have a real-world impact based on Intel Edge-centric FPGAS. Teams will utilize the Terasic DE10-Nano FPGA Cloud Connectivity Kit, with Analog Devices plug-in cards, and connected to the cloud using selected Microsoft Azure Cloud Services. These kits will be provided to qualified participating teams at no cost, along with a small quantity of ADI plug-in cards, and credits/limited time access to Microsoft’s Azure Cloud Services.
