ADI India Felicitates The Top 10 Anveshan 2020 Finalists

Analog Devices hosted the first ever virtual finalists of the Anveshan 2020 Design Fellowship Program. The theme for this year’s Anveshan was “Design the Future” with a goal of building smart and innovative solutions to solve problems in healthcare, energy and resource management, Industry 4.0 and public safety and security.

Koushik Balasubramanya, the Chair of Anveshan 2020, was instrumental in driving the program this year. Koushik said, “I would like to appreciate the zeal and passion of the students who continued to work on their projects even though they were faced with a lot of challenges. Even through the lockdown, all of the teams have really worked beyond our expectation and have done a remarkable job in presenting their work.”

Launched in 2010, the Anveshan University Design Fellowship Program aims to provide engineering students an opportunity to showcase their ideas and encourage them to think ahead of what’s possible to create solutions to societal problems using ADI’s Technology. Unlike a hack-a-thon or make-a-thon, which are short-term proof of concept prototypes to learn, Anveshan is conceptualized differently. The participating teams are encouraged to research much deeper about the challenge and develop an idea through a focused effort, test and refine the concept for a much longer timeframe of up to 8 months.

The selected projects go through regular architecture reviews, component selection reviews, interim deadlines, and a complete presentation and demonstration of the prototype by the end of the program. Students can design and architect a complete product, core technology, algorithm or service in a low-risk setting with funding and guidance provided by Analog Devices.

This year, we received 323 registration from 82 colleges across 21 states, which is a record for the Anveshan Program. After careful consideration, Analog Devices India selected the top 10 interesting projects who received funding and technical mentorship. The final line up saw various innovative ideas coming from students of different colleges in India. This indicates the diverse talent pool that is present in India and how Analog Devices is encouraging more and more students to bring out their unique talent.

This year is no different. The contestants have chosen variety of social problems to solve – be it welfare of farmers, personal health, quality of water & food, etc. You applied ADI’s signal processing solutions innovatively to solve these problems. Despite many constraints imposed by the pandemic, with limited or no access to the tools and labs, you stayed focused and completed your fellowship. You have demonstrated great commitment and focus. Hope you learned from your Anveshan mentors and use these learnings in your careers. Many opportunities await you as you graduate from the theoretical world of academics into the practical world of industry.”

This year’s program was a success thanks to the dedication and hard work of each mentor and student. Congratulations to the top contestants for coming up with ingenious solutions to solve today’s challenges.
