Can ADE7763 measure DC voltage and current

Category: Datasheet/Specs
Product Number: ADE7763ARSZ

Hello,

Customer APM got some quetions on ADE7763, hope to get your answer, thank you!

APM plan to use ADE7763 in their programable power source, and they would like to know:

1. Can the voltage channel (CH2) of the ADE7763 measure dc voltage?
2. Can the current channel (CH1) of the ADE7763 measure DC current?
3. What is the maximum frequency that voltage channel (CH2) can measure? 140HZ?
4. What is the maximum frequency that current channel (CH1) can measure?

  • The V1 channel has a high-pass filter that needs to be disable to measure DC, while the V2 channel does not have an HPF.

The bandwidth of the V1 channel is 14 kHz but for the V2 channel it is 140 Hz, the magnitude response of this filter can be seen in Figure 46 of ADE7763 (Rev. C) (analog.com). This "LPF1" cannot be disabled.

Just be aware that the weak point with DC measurement will be the offset drift, I recommend testing over temperature to make sure you are happy with the performance.
