I am using ADE7858A for my application. ADE7858A is interfaced with an microcontroller over I2C protocol. I have connected AGND, DGND and neutral together. I was bit worried about these connections and have following questions:-
1.) Is it ok if I don't connect AGND and DGND together.
2.) In case if anybody interchanges phase and neutral connection and it might lead to damage of all the components like microcontroller and other ic. How can i protect my circuit from wrong connection.
1、It's not OK, please connect the AGND and DGND together.
2、Here is one document should be useful to you, http://www.analog.com/media/en/technical-documentation/application-notes/AN-639.pdf. You can connect the ground to phase and in that situation, you should do isolation.

What kind of isolation can I use?
You can take this document http://www.analog.com/media/en/technical-documentation/user-guides/EVAL-ADE7878AEBZ_UG-545.pdf as a reference, there are some isolation circuit.
Eval circuit has separate supply input for ADE7878A(VDD) and for microcontroller (VDD_MCU). But in my case both ade7858A and microcontroller are powered by same smps. So my smps ground, mcu ground, ade agnd, dgnd and neutral are shorted.
Please show us the circuit schematic, so we can check how your case should be modified. Thank you very much.
