ADE9000: Detect power line frequency

Hi,

My customer want to know that how to set the output frequency to 0 Hz regardless of the state of the SELFREQ bit,

when the power line frequency is less than 40Hz or no power line detectet,

Thanks and regards,

Makio

  • Hi Aheredia,

Thank you for your quick answer!

And I'm sorry for the question being too simple.
I will explain in a little more detail.
When the frequency measurement range of the ADE 9000 goes out of 40Hz to 70Hz (for example, 40Hz or less),
the ADE9000 seems to output the set frequency (50Hz or 60Hz output).
However, even if the power supply is shut off and no output is available, the ADE9000 outputs 50Hz.
When the power supply is stopped, or when the power supply frequency falls below 40Hz,
I want to make it the state of "0Hz" (no output).
Can the ADE9000 realize the above operation?

    Thanks and regards,

    Makio

  • I also have the same problem, have you found a solution?
    Thanks

  • Hi Michelangelo,

The ADE9000 automatically outputs 50Hz or 60Hz when it goes out of the frequency measurement range of 40 to 70Hz.

Other than using the zero intersection timeout function described in the data sheet to determine the input state after confirming in advance whether the ZXTOx bit of STATUS1 (0x403) is set from the microcomputer using the event of the IRQ1 pin There seems to be no best way.

(* It seems that there is no choice but to add a device to detect around ADE9000)

    Thanks and regards,

    Makio

  • Use the VRMS to help you decide if the line voltage is present. No line voltage = 0Hz
