Use the following steps to debug any connections issues with ADVisionSensorController
- Please check that the hardware connections have been done correctly according to the figure below. Also ensure that you have reset the board before running the GUI.
- If your hardware connections are correct but your GUI freezes every time you open it, try disabling your WiFi and run the GUI.
- If disabling the WiFi connection doesn't fix it, then try using a different USB port or USB cable.
- When successful connection happens the GUI will immediately pop up a window asking for selecting the on board image sensor. There are 2 sensors the Aptina ASX340C and Omnivision OVM7692 present on board. If you are not seeing this box, then it is possibly because the Virtual Com Port, UART to USB driver (http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm) did not install properly. For first time users, the driver will be automatically be downloaded from the web (ensure that your PC is connected to the web) and be installed on the PC. You can check in the "Device Manager" of your PC to check if the driver is installed properly. If the driver is not installing automatically, then please check if Plug and Play is disabled in your machine. To check you can do the following steps.
- Go to Control Panel -> System -> Advanced System Settings
- Go to Hardware Tab
- Click on Device Installation Settings
- Ensure this is set to Yes, do this automatically.
