Q:
When I try to install VisualDSP++ 5.0 on my Windows 7 machine I encounter a message stating that “Windows can’t verify the publisher of this driver software” (please see the attached screenshot for further details of the error message). What should I do?
--------------
A:
We typically only see this error when trying to install VisualDSP++ 5.0 on a Windows Vista or a Windows 7 machine. The problem is caused by the OS checking for digital driver verification of our EZ-Kit and Emulator drivers, however, in early versions of VisualDSP++ 5.0 these drivers were unsigned, hence this error being produced.
When the error message appears, you will have two options:
1. Don’t install this driver software
2. Install this driver software anyway
To complete the installation of VisualDSP++ 5.0 please select the second option, “Install this driver software anyway”. Note, you may need to click, “Install this driver software anyway” several times as it will appear for all of our drivers.
Update 5 onwards includes new emulator drivers which allows our USB emulators and lead free EZ-Kits to be used on 64-bit operating systems and these new drivers are also signed so you shouldn’t encounter any problems when applying one of our latest updates.
