When I try to connect to VisualDSP++ via remote desktop I encounter the following error message - ERROR: Terminal Server remote client not allowed. Why is this?
In versions of VisualDSP++ prior to 5.0 we explicitly and consciously disallowed the use of remote access applications, such as Remote Desktop, with node-locked licenses in our license manager. If you tried to connect to VisualDSP++ via Remote Desktop in a version prior to 5.0 then you will encounter the ‘ERROR: Terminal Server remote client not allowed’, error message. However, please note that although not explicitly supported, some users have successfully used remote desktop with our floating license.
As of VisualDSP++ 5.0 this changed, connecting to VisualDSP++ 5.0 via Remote Desktop is now allowed by our license manager. However, Remote Desktop is not supported when using VisualDSP++ 5.0 with a node-locked license string created by an earlier release (This will happen if you copied over your license.dat file from an earlier version). If you try to connect to a Remote Desktop session using a license string created by an earlier version then you will encounter the "ERROR: Terminal Server remote client not allowed" error message. This is covered in the ‘Support for Remote Desktop’ section in chapter 1 of our Licensing Guide.
To resolve this problem please rename your current license.dat file (found in the System folder of your VisualDSP++ installation), I would recommend that you rename it to license_old. Once you have this, please follow the instructions in chapter 2 of our Licensing Guide for details on how to manually install your license. Please note that you will also need to register your license again to receive a VisualDSP++ 5.0 compatible validation code.
