Which versions of VisualDSP++ run on which 64-bit Windows? What is supported?
ADI introduced Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit versions) support for VisualDSP++ 5.0 Update 7 and later. Windows 7 64-bit is the only 64-bit operating system which VisualDSP++ supports. This includes support for:
What is not supported?
In VisualDSP++ 5.0 Update 8, 64-bit windows drivers for USB bulk transfers was added.
Thank you for the clarification. I've installed 5.0 Update 9.1. Now I've sent a support request.
Is the ADDS-HPUSB-ICE (non RoHS) supported under Windows 7 64-bit? It is not clear from the above description.
I cannot make it work on my freshly installed system. The 64-bit driver installed without problem, and in fact it passed the test in the configuration manager (even in continuous mode). But whenever I want to connect to the target (a custom BF532 board -- used to work under XP Professional 32-bit), I get various error messages.
I have tried several times to uninstall/manually reinstall the driver, but it did not help (apparently, the correct driver is installed). I've also tried running the IDE as Administrator and in various compatibility modes, to no avail.
Yes, both RoHS and non-RoHS USB emulators (ADDS/ADZS HPUSB-ICE and USB-ICE) should work under Windows 7 64-bit, provided an appropriate update of VisualDSP++ 5.0 has been installed. The non-RoHS restriction only applies to the EZ-KIT Lite Evaluation Boards if you are using the on-board USB Debug Agent connection (they cannot be used with Windows 7 x64).
