VisualDSP++ 5.1.2 Installation Failure

    I need to install VisualDSP++ but the installer does not work.
    

    After clicking setup the installer complains it cannot detect Visual C++ 2005 SP1 runtime libraries.
    

    Warning that Visual C++ 2005 SP1 runtime libraries could not be detected
    

    Selecting the launch installer option and clicking OK launches the installer but it fails:
    

    Setup encountered an error running .\Setup\vcredist_x86-SP1.exe
    

     
    

    I also tried installing the Visual C++ 2005 SP1 redistributable manually.

      Hi,

      Could you please let us know, whether you run the setup.exe under Administrator account? Please try after log in with the Administrator account then run the setup.exe.

      Also, can you check that the "VisualDSP++ 5.1.2.exe" file that you have downloaded is the correct size(997 MB) as we have seen cases in the past which has been caused by the EXE file has become corrupt or hasn't downloaded fully.

      Could you please download VisualDSP++ 5.1.2 from the below link.
      download.analog.com/.../VisualDSP   5.1.2.exe

      Another recommendation, we would like to make is to re-install the latest security update to VS 2005 SP1 redistributables.

      1) Download vcredist_x86.exe from the following website:
      www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx
      2) Run the downloaded executable to install the redistributables
      3) When redistributables are installed, please open the command prompt as an administrator, and run the following command:
      regsvr32 "C:\Program Files (x86)\Analog Devices\VisualDSP 5.1.2\System\SystemBuilder\CodeGenerators\Startup Code Wizard\LDFGen\VDSGCom.dll"
      4) Rerun the VisualDSP++ installation.

      Please let us know if the registration is successful or not. If the installation still fails, can you please send us the installation log file, you can find the installation log in your 'Temp'. If you are using Windows default setting you might find under following path:
      C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Local Settings\Temp
       
      The installation log should be named as 'VisualDSP++5.1.2_Install_Log_xxxx....txt. Please sort by Date Modified and send us the latest one.

      Also, send us the error capture or the error code if any.can you please let us know the operating system that you are using.
