Article corrupt project file Error VisualDSP++ 3.0

Question:
What is the reason for getting "corrupt project file" when trying to open a project created using VisualDSP++ 3.0

Answer:
The VisualDSP++ 3.0 tools are officially supported on the following operating systems:
• Windows 98
• Windows NT 4.0 SP3
• Windows 2000
• Windows ME
• Windows XP

And also VisualDSP++ 3.0 is considered as an obsolete for all architectures.

The reason for receiving the "corrupt project file" error when trying to open project in VisualDSP++ 5.0(later version) which was created in VisualDSP++ 3.0 is because VisualDSP++ 5.0 cannot open .dpj files created in VisualDSP++ 3.0(quit old version) due to incompatible .dpj formats.

If you want to upgrade you'll have to re-create the project from scratch in VisualDSP++ version that you are using.
