The non-VDK version of the graphics library demo for the BF548 EZ-kit is running VERY slowly for me. From the time I click "Run" it takes upwards of 20 seconds before the graphics are displayed.
I have tried the following:
Confirmed SCLK @ 130 MHz w/ scope
Commented out the #define USB to avoid accessing any files from the hard drive
Written my own graphics functions to avoid readParam()
The code runs and the graphics are displayed, it's just extremely slow.
I have moved this issue from the Blackfin category to the Software Modules, Starter Kits and Software Development Kits category. Please continue your discussion here.
Could you please help me understand your setup better?
In case you are reading command from the command files, commenting out USB will make the demo slower because command will be read through JTAG. If you have put the command directly in the application, then there should not be any delay. Another thing you can try is to reduce the value of nLCDDelay variable. This delay gives LCD display time to stablize.
I found the problem. Each one of the "printf" statements sent to the console was taking ~5 seconds.
