I am working on an SC589-EZkit and have exactly the same issue as listed in this previous question:https://ez.analog.com/dsp/software-and-development-tools/linux-for-adsp-sc5xx-processors/f/q-a/117018/adsp-sc589-linux-add-in-no-u-boot-output/348704Namely that after running:load u-boot-sc589-ezkitI receive no output from the minicom console.
I am working on Ubuntu 18.04 and have followed the appropriate guide (https://ez.analog.com/dsp/software-and-development-tools/linux-for-adsp-sc5xx-processors/w/documents/14051/how-to-build-linux-addin-1-3-0-on-ubuntu-18-04), before moving on to the Linux add-in Quick start guide (https://download.analog.com/tools/LinuxAddInForCCES/documentation/linux_add_in_user_guide_1.3.1.pdf).The solution in the above question was to solder an ftdi cable directly onto the footprint of U26, as the author's U26 chip was missing. My board however has U26 fitted, so I would expect the usb to uart connection to work just fine.
I am working on a local Ubuntu installation not a VM (though I am ssh'd into the terminal).
Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.
The u-boot images(init.elf, u-boot, u-boot.ldr files) are built on local Ubuntu machine or the prebuilt linux add-in 1.3.1 images which are available from analog.com?
My suggestions are:
1. Check the UART hardware connection;
2. Load u-boot with the pebuilt linux add-in 1.3.1 images;
3. Use gdb to get the current state of board;
Thanks a lot.
