Typical Linux boot times are much slower than this. Can anyone shed some light on where the time is spent and estimate the fastest achievable boot time ?
Need to be able to communicate over TCP/IP within 5 secs after powerup. Lets ignore the overhead of a bootloader for now.

Message: 54663 i dont know what systems you've been reviewing, but 5 seconds is easy. certainly the boot up times for desktop Linux systems are not applicable.
