Hello,
Below is the boot up console message.
I just tried to follow the nfs example in http://docs.blackfin.uclinux.org/doku.php?id=uclinux-dist:nfs
Could you advise where I should check?
Thank you.
Regards,
AC

Hi Mike,
Thanks a lot for advice. I just found I forgot to add 'console=ttyBF0,57600' in U-Boot.
Now I can see the console message, but now is another error. The console message is as below:
Thank you.

Hi Mike,
I tried to add two nodes in /dev,
ac@ac-desktop:~/uClinux-dist-2008R1.5-RC3/romfs/dev$ sudo mknod console c 5 1
ac@ac-desktop:~/uClinux-dist-2008R1.5-RC3/romfs/dev$ sudo mknod null c 1 3
ac@ac-desktop:~/uClinux-dist-2008R1.5-RC3/romfs/dev$ sudo chmod 777 console
ac@ac-desktop:~/uClinux-dist-2008R1.5-RC3/romfs/dev$ sudo chmod 777 null
ac@ac-desktop:~/uClinux-dist-2008R1.5-RC3/romfs/dev$ ls -l
total 0
crwxrwxrwx 1 root root 5, 1 2008-12-18 13:47 console
crwxrwxrwx 1 root root 1, 3 2008-12-18 13:48 null
Now I can see the previous error is disappeared.
But I saw several errors have "resampling too fast" on the EKIT's LCD console.
Could you advise how to add all needed devices in /dev correctly?
Thank you.

AC

Hi Mike,
Sorry, I overlooked.
The error messgae shown on LCD screen should be
init: -/bin/sh respawning too fast
init: /bin/watchdogd respawning too fast
init: /sbin/syslogd respawning too fast
then repeated these three messages again and again.
I have another question,
My PC only can get the console message
..............
VFS: Mounted root (nfs filesystem).
Freeing unused kernel memory: 160k freed
After the above message, there is no more message.
But the EZKIT's LCD screen can show the complete boot up message and I can see "Have a lot of fun..."
Do you know what I am missing? Thank you.
Regards,
AC

console= order matters
your /dev probably still isnt populated with device nodes, and your / is read only so mdev doesnt create them for you

Hi Mike,
Thanks a lot for immediate reply. It's midnight for you. Please have a nice rest.
I changed the read/write permission by the following command
ac@ac-desktop:~/uClinux-dist-2008R1.5-RC3$sudo chmod -R 777 romfs
ac@ac-desktop:~/uClinux-dist-2008R1.5-RC3$sudo chmod 777 /
But the same error messages were shown.
Did I do the right step to change the "/" read/write permission?
Thank you.

Hi Mike,
I just checked the console on EZKIT's LCD screen,
when I use shell command "ls -l", I saw "." and ".." both are drwxrwxrwx.
But if use "chmod 777 /", I saw "chmod: /: Read-only file system".
Do you know where could be the problem?
If you need any more info, please let me know.
Thanks.

Hi Mike,
Thanks a lot. You are right. The permission is read-only when I tried locally. After correting this problem, there is no "respawning too fast" error.
The console message on the EZKIT's LCD screen is normal, but the console message receievd by my PC only has the following message. Do you know why it stopped communicate with my PC?
Thanks.
