What is the current status about SkyEye support? (Processor/board, uClinux distro version)
From SkyEye site and early posting on this forum it seems that only bf533 and bf537 are supported (no specific board is mentioned) and the lastest uClinux distros supported are 2005R3 and 2005R4.
Thanks,
Dong

Hi
I put a "work-in-progress" patch up on the toolchain forum.
It still has problems but I think most , if not all, the extra instructions are covered.

I have not had time to get back to it but will probably have some time in the near future.
( Going to be living in a hospital for a few weeks !)

Phil:
Most of that was just syncing skyeye with the simulator in gdb - since the skyeye one isn't uo to date?

Hi Robin,
Yes, quite a few instructions were missing from skyeye. I pulled what I could from the toolchain.
I have made a mistake somewhere because the PC is now becoming an odd number.
I've not had the time to get back into it to fix that.
It is close I think but not quiite there yet.
Phil

Just curious. I understand the support for processors. But why distros count? I thought as long as I choose a supported target processor, all distros should work. Wrong?

I mean why 2008R1.5 isn't support.

please read the faq (Why do I need to use the same version of toolchain/kernel/uClibc/U-boot/uClinux-dist?):

Sorry, I still don't understand.
My understanding is that SkyEye is a processor simulator and things above the ISA shouldn't matter as long as the final binary is targeted for a supported processor. Obviously I am wrong but would like to know where I am wrong.
Thanks,
Dong

your assumption is that the skyeye simulator has complete coverage of the Blackfin ISA. this is incorrect. it has complete coverage of the instruction set that older releases utilized.

Dong:
And recent emails from Skyeye developers feel that since Blackfin has cheap (sub $250) development boards avalible - a simulator is not important. - if you disagree - please email the skyeye mainatiners/developers (Luke Yang, and Michael Kang) directly.
