Hi,
I have mounted a HDD (Fat32 format) after the kernel boot-up.
When I press tab key after typing the following command "rm -rf mnt/usb/NP" in the root level, I am getting a kernel panic.
Could anybody tell me what could be the reason for this. I am using 2009RC1 package.
P.S KernelPanic_Browse.tar.gz log attached
Thanks in advance,
Regards,
Jai

Did you see the "utf8 is not a recommended IO charset for FAT filesystems"?
Do you get this all the time? or just random times?

Robin,
Yes I always see utf8 warning message whenever I mount a drive in fat format with iocharset = utf8.
I get kernel panic randomly.

Do you see the same thing on other platforms? or just yours? It could be a hardware (memory) issue.

Robin,
If this thread can be tracked with Fat panic issue thread posted by me, then please close this thread.
Please let me know if there are any test suite to test my low-level drivers to confirm if it is a hardware issue.
