Sorry. Mike, I don't see many advantages to replace current API by cyclecounter.

Now only PTP modules of igb network cards and our bf518 are using it. In this

context, we may still follow the convention of related stuff in ARM.

If kernel hasn't decide to drop the clocksource framework, is it worth the

effort to move core timer to cyclecounter?

we arent talking about the core timer. we're talking about cycles/gptimer.
