using the ADZS-HPUSB-ICE Emulator to install DSP FW on the Blackfins. We just updated to Win 10 though and cannot get the emulator to install or find any drivers. It just shows up as an “unknown device” in the Device Manager.

We are still using the ADZS-HPUSB-ICE Emulator
regularly to install DSP FW on the Blackfins in our STEM devices. We just
updated to Win 10 though and cannot get the emulator to install or find any
drivers. It just shows up as an “unknown device” in the Device Manager.

Do we have drivers to support Windows 10?

    Hi,

If you are using VisualDSP++,Unfortunately we do not support any version of VisualDSP++ on windows 10.It is supported on the following operating systems:
Windows XP Professional SP3 (32-bit only) Windows Vista Business, Enterprise, or Ultimate SP2 (32-bit only) Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise, or Ultimate (32 and 64-bit) Windows 8 Pro or Enterprise (32 and 64-bit)

Also please note that there are no plans to upgrade VDSP++ for windows 10.

While we have had some customers report success using VisualDSP++  with the Windows "Compatibility Mode", this is not something we have tested nor that we support. We can only support customers using the aforementioned supported operating systems for VisualDSP++.

The driver for the USB Emulator can be found in the VisualDSP++ installation directory. If your Windows Operating System is not detecting the drivers automatically, you may need to manually direct the Hardware Wizard to the files.

Try uninstalling the driver and reinstall it via your computers Device Manager. Depending on which version of VisualDSP++ you have, the drivers are in differing locations. For VisualDSP++ 5.0, though, the drivers are located at "...\Setup\Emu_Drivers\"

Please refer "Installing drivers manually" in Emulator and Evaluation Hardware Troubleshooting Guide http://www.analog.com/media/en/technical-documentation/application-notes/EE-175.pdf

If you are using CCES,the drivers are located at [install_drive]:\Analog Devices\ CrossCore Embedded Studio x.x.x\Setup\Emu_Drivers\

The driver for all emulators and evaluation boards for 32-bit Operating Systems is WmUsbIce.sys.
The driver for all emulators and evaluation boards for 64-bit Operating Systems is WmUsbIce64.sys.

Please refer "Installing drivers manually" in Emulator and Evaluation Hardware Troubleshooting Guide http://www.analog.com/media/en/technical-documentation/application-notes/EE356.pdf

    Regards,
    Kader

  • We are facing the same issue. Did you ever find a solution for the ADZS-HPUSB-ICE Emulator under Win10 (and VDSP++ under Win10) ?

  • Hi,
as no one answered this, I think I will. I have it running under windows 10, but use the drivers included in the CCES release.

If you need them, send me a PM and I'll send the drivers over.
