EV-SC594-SOM USB Not Recognized, RX/TX LEDs Always On

Category: Hardware
Product Number: ADSP-SC594

Hi,

My new EV-SC594-SOM board is not recognized by my PC via USB-C, showing a "USB Device Not Recognized" error. Both RX and TX LEDs remain constantly on when powered via USB-C or through the carrier board.

The boot mode is set to position 1 (default). On power-on or reset, the LEDs blink once, followed by three blinks, suggesting the default program is running correctly. I’ve tried different USB-C cables and PC ports, but the issue persists.

Currently running Windows 11. The board appears in Device Manager as an unknown device. No other USB devices are connected, and I’ve rebooted the PC.

Any suggestions on what might be causing this or next steps to troubleshoot? Could it be a driver, hardware, or configuration issue?

Best regards!

  • Hi ,

Could you please let us know whether you have connected cable in the USB hub port. please confirm once.

If so, try connecting the USB cable in USB port of PC and check the status.

Also, Can you check again by re-installing the driver manually? The drivers are found in the "Emu_Drivers" directory:
    <installation drive>:\Analog Devices\CrossCore Embedded Studio 2.x.x\Setup\Emu_Drivers

Please refer "Installing drivers manually" in Emulator and Evaluation Hardware Troubleshooting Guide
    http://www.analog.com/media/en/technical-documentation/application-notes/EE356.pdf

  • Hi, thanks for the answer.

Apparently, the FT232R ic is damaged. We replace it and the board started to appear in windows, but we do not know why the chip died.

    Thanks for the support.

    Best regards.
