how to get started for real and hear audio

there is the 3.0.3 version of CCES here : www.analog.com/.../adswt-cces.html

I downloaded the one for ubuntu here -> , be aware it's a 1.2GB file !

according to "Installation Guide for CrossCore Embedded Studio" dated oct2022, we need to install 32bit libraries but alas, this happened..

if i proceed anyway despite the lib install error, this happens..  we really need to handle this 32bit libncurses issue ! but how .... 

this is how I solved it (for the record, my linux mint 22.1 is ubuntu 24.04 based , aka noble)

as root,

echo "deb security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu focal-security main universe" > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ubuntu-focal-sources.list

then,

sudo apt update
as here we went.....with success !

..then I installed the CCES like this... log is dirty but thea app accepts to boot anyway 

I had no luck with the licence in CCES 3.0.3 and did need to get a fresh licence.dat  directly from the support team,

fortunately, their help was very relevant and now CCES starts;

but what to do next ?

I have no clue if I need to connect the ev-somcrr-ezkit or the ev-sc-594 to my PC , and how...

can some one help please ?

The EV-SOMCRR-EZKIT carrier board is a backplane plug-in card designed for use with System on Module (SoM)evaluation boards.

Unfortunately, Currently there is no Linux installer for the BSPs.

However, we would suggest that you can copy the entire BSP install to your Linux box and set-up a .link as per the Windows installer as per below steps.

1.Install latest ADSP-SC594 BSP 4.0.0 on Windows from the below link.
download.analog.com/.../ADI_EV-SC59x_EZ-KIT-Rel4.0.0.exe

2.In VM (and using a mounted drive), add a test.link to your "/opt/analog/cces/x.x.x/Eclipse/dropins" folder
For example: "path=/media/sf_C_DRIVE/Analog\ Devices/EV-SC59x_EZ-KIT-Rel4.0.0/EV-SC59x_EZ-KIT"

3.Loaded up CCES on Linux /opt/analog/cces/2.x.x/Eclipse/cces
4.Browse using "Browse Examples" option in CCES and you can use the Examples.
