BSP for Linux Host

Category: Software
Product Number: EV-SC598-SOM

Hi,

We have recently purchased a EV-SC598-SO, paired with EV-SOMCRR-EZKIT.

We have downloaded the Linux version of CCES as found here (https://www.analog.com/en/resources/evaluation-hardware-and-software/software/software-download.html?swpart=SD_VVKLFA3). This has been activated on the Linux host machine, and looks like it is doing what is says on the box (can build a simple "hello world" application without failing)

We then moved to looking at what BSP is available, and noticed there is only a windows EXE format download. (https://download.analog.com/tools/EZBoards/EV-SC59x/Releases/Release_4.0.0/ADI_EV-SC59x_EZ-KIT-Rel4.0.0.exe)

Ofcourse, Im not able to easily run this on a Windows host - I assumed it would be a self-extracting archive, but it looks like it's much more than that... Which is problematic now since my CCES license is already tied to my Linux host.

We are just getting started and would like to see examples etc that exercise the capabilities of the board with custom CCES built images. For example DMA control, Serial port access, etc...

Is the BSP available as a Linux installer?

Thread Notes

Parents
  •  from previous message in previously open thread did you meant to send this to different section of EZ forum?

  • Hi  ... It looks like  moved the thread ...

Unfortunately, I have not been able to dedicate anytime to this project since these messages...

  • Hi Juansta,

Apologies for the confusion here. I thought Linux host machine related requirements will be handled in this forum. Now I have moved this thread to Software and Development Tools community.

Unfortunately, Currently there is no Linux installer for the BSPs.

However, we would suggest that you can copy the entire BSP install to your Linux box and set-up a .link as per the Windows installer as per below steps.

    1.Install latest ADSP-SC594 BSP 4.0.0 on Windows.
2.In VM (and using a mounted drive), add a test.link to your /opt/analog/cces/2.10.0/Eclipse/dropins folder
    For example: "path=/media/sf_C_DRIVE/Analog\ Devices/EV-SC59x_EZ-KIT-Rel4.0.0/EV-SC59x_EZ-KIT"
3.Loaded up CCES on Linux /opt/analog/cces/2.x.x/Eclipse/cces
4.Browse using "Browse Examples" option in CCES and you can use the Examples.

If you run into any problems, then please do let us know.

    Best Regards,
