ADZS-HPUSB-ICE: Error 0x8004801e – USB Data Count Error

Category: Software
Software Version: ADZS-HPUSB-ICE

I have got the seemingly same problem as earlier reported with subject "ADZS-HPUSB-ICE: Error 0x8004801e – USB Data Count Error". I wonder if a solution was found?

I get it with an ADSP BF527 EZ-KIT LITE board. It has previously been working.

Windows 10.

  • Hi Sven,

The 0x8004801e error can be caused by either a fault with the emulator or with the target board.

To help us narrow down the cause of the problem, can you please send us the following information:

    1. Does the ICE Test utility run successfully, or does it fail at any point? If the Test fails, please provide us with a screenshot showing the ICE Test results.
    2. Do you have any other emulators of the same type, which operates correctly with the same target board and PC?
    3. Do you have another target board you can use to connect to your emulator with? Does the emulator still behave the same way? Do you still encounter the same error messages?
    4. Please try deleting and recreating your session and see if the connection issue persists.
    5. Please let us know which tool (CCES/VDSP) and operating system that you are using.
    6. Did you buy this emulator direct from Analog devices or distributor?

Please read through our Emulator Troubleshooting Guide and let us know the results of the troubleshooting steps it advises.

Please refer to the below EE note for VDSP++.

  • Thank you for a prompt answer

(I can see that I have registered under a wrong mail address: sjorgense@... should have been sjorgensen@....)

    1. ICE test runs correctly

    • 2: I do not in Denmark have other emulators
    • 3. I do have another another EZ-KIT. Gives same fault but also has other faults. I am waiting for a new prototype board of our own brand (replacing BF533 by BF527). I would very much like to test as much as possible on the EZ-KIT before I get that in my hands ;). The BF533 boards I have got, do not have connector for ICE.
    • 4. I have deleted and recreated multiple times
    • 5. Using VDSP. Using Microsoft Windows 10, newest update.
    • 6. ICE bought at least 15 years ago from Danish distributor. Worked correctly a month ago.
