Development suite for windows 10 that supports TS 101 DSPs

We have to work on our previous projects that include our custom boards that has TS 101 DSP's.
Our computers have the Windows 10 64-bit operation systems.
As I understand the CrossCore development suite does not support TS101.
Is Visual DSP5 can run on windows 10 64-bit, what update do i need?

If no, what options do I have?

Thank you

Eyal

  • Hello Eyal,

We understand that you have already contacted our private support. To avoid duplication of efforts, please continue the discussion there.

However, we are posting response here for others to benefit.

We recommend to use VisualDSP++ 5.1.2 for ADSP-TS101. Also, please note that VDSP 5.1.2 is the last version that will support Tiger SHARC.

You can download and install latest version of VisualDSP++ 5.1.2 using the below link:
    download.analog.com/.../VisualDSP 5.1.2.exe

Unfortunately we do not support any version of VisualDSP++ on windows 10. Also there are no plans to upgrade VDSP++ for windows 10.

VisualDSP++ 5.1.2 is the last/latest version, that is supported on the following operating systems only:

Windows XP Professional SP3 (32-bit only)
Windows Vista Business, Enterprise, or Ultimate SP2 (32-bit only)
Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise, or Ultimate (32 and 64-bit)
Windows 8 Pro or Enterprise (32 and 64-bit)

While we have had some customers report success using VisualDSP++ in Windows 10 with the Windows "Compatibility Mode", this is not something we have tested nor that we support. We can only support customers using the above mentioned supported operating systems for VisualDSP++.

Our general advice when trying to use legacy tools with modern Operating Systems is that Windows 10 does offer a 'Compatibility' mode, which may allow you to run these tools using an unsupported OS.

Furthermore, The "Run as Administrator" option, which is also available within the 'Compatibility' tab when right-clicking and selecting "Properties" for an executable file, instructs Windows to run the application with full Registry access.

Please refer the below linked FAQ, which might be helpful to you:
