ADSP-SC589 Flash Programmer

Hello,

I was wondering if it is possible to insert few lines of code or program into the FlashProgrammer source code.

For example:

A piece of code that can light some led.

The purpose of this is to be able to load just one file that will contain the code to program to flash AND the data needed to turn on the led instead of loading 2 files, the flash programmer and then using it to upload my loader(Led) to the flash.

Is it possible?

Are you referring to the flash programmer application used with the CLDP utility for programming through JTAG? Its source is shipped as an example project in the ADSP-SC5xx Board Support Package.

Once installed, it should appear under Help->Browse Examples, as "W25Q128 dpia (SC589 SHARC)" (where "dpia" is short for "Device Programmer Interface Application").

  • Appreciate your will to help.

Not exactly, I will try be more clear about it.

What I am doing now through CCFP utility is loading the FlashProgrammer.ldr and then loading my TurnOnLED.ldr to the flash using the FlashProgrammer.ldr.

I would like to combine those two files so when I use the CCFP, it will need to move just one file which will do both actions(FP and TurnOnLED) through the UART without the JTAG.

I see. The source project for CCSFP's ADSP-SC589-FlashProgrammer.ldr is shipped in directory src/ccsfp/programmers/ADSP-215xx_SC5xx/ADSP-SC589-FlashProgrammer of the CrossCore Utilities install. You can import it into CCES via File->Import->General->ExistingProjectsIntoWorkspace.

  • I`ve done that.

Now, how can I add the Led code into the FlashProgrammer code?

Again, what I am trying to do is to combine them together so when I start the CCFP GUI, I will only need to transfer 1 file to the ADSP through UART.

The main() function of the flash programmer is in file src/main.c. You could add your code at the appropriate poiint there, for example before the while(1) loop for processing command packages from the host.

Note that there's also the 'Load & Run' action in CCSFP, which allows you to boot a ldr strream directly over the UART without involving the flash programmer. Does that suit your use case?
