End of availability for Micrium Add-Ins for CrossCore Embedded Studio

Why are the Micrium products for CrossCore Embedded Studio no longer available?

  • In 2019 Micrium was acquired by Silicon Labs. Silicon Labs has announced that it plans to provide Micrium uC/OS and uC/USB family of products for free via Github. Due to this change in distribution Analog Devices will no longer be offering the Micrium based Add-In products for CrossCore Embedded Studio.

I previously purchased the Micrium products from Analog Devices, will these still be supported?

  • Analog Devices will continue to support the Micrium Add-Ins for CrossCore Embedded Studio until March 31 2021.

I previously purchased the Micrium products, how do I re-download these products?

  • Please visit https://www.analog.com/srf to request the software. Please include the details of the account that the previous software license was purchased with.

 Will Analog Devices provide future updates to the Micrium products?

  • Analog Devices is not currently planning to provide any updates to the Micrium Add-Ins for CrossCore Embedded Studio.

 Will Analog Devices provide support for future processors and new silicon revisions in the Micrium add-ins for CrossCore Embedded Studio?

  • Analog Devices is not currently planning to provide any updates to the Micrium Add-Ins for CrossCore Embedded Studio that would support new processors or silicon revisions

Are the Analog Devices Micrium products compatible with the Micrium source code available on Github.com?

  • The source code provided in the Micrium Add-Ins is provided under different licensing terms from the source code made available by Silicon Labs on Github, and as such is not compatible with it.

 Will the Micrium products continue to be compatible with future updates to CrossCore Embedded Studio?

  • It is not guaranteed that the Micrium Add-Ins for CrossCore Embedded Studio will be compatible with all future releases on CrossCore Embedded Studio.

Will Analog Devices be providing alternative products to replace the Micrium add-ins for CrossCore Embedded Studio?

  • Analog Devices currently provides FreeRTOS as a free-of-charge Real-Time Operating System. 
  • Analog Devices has partnered with third parties such as HCC Embedded and Closed Loop Design to provide alternative TCP/IP and USB stacks for the ADSP-SC5xx family of processors.
  • Linux is also available for the ARM core on the SC5xx family of processors.
