DDR access

Thread Summary

The user encountered an issue where manual access to DDR memory at address 0x80000000 failed on the 21835-SOM board via the Memory window in CCES, receiving an 'address not writable' error. The final answer suggests this is a known issue from CCES version 3.0.2 and recommends using CCES version 3.0.1 as a workaround. The user confirmed that the code can read and write DDR, but the Memory Browser displays all zeros.

Hi,

I am using 21835-SOM board.but manual access DDR memory failed via Memory window of CCES.

The prompt given by the CCES is:Info : address 0x80000000 not writable, skipped

preload code is:ADSP21835W-EV-SOM_preload.dxe

Why does this problem occur?

Regards,

Bingo

  • Hi Bingo,

    Apologies for the inconvenience.

This issue has been observed from CCES version 3.0.2, and we are forwarding this to our internal team for further investigation.

Also, the issue seems to occur at the beginning of the DDR address. If you try to access some address far (e.g, 0x80000100), it is working fine.

However, if possible, we recommend using CCES version 3.0.1 as a temporary workaround.
