Not able to select Emulator as target in CrossCore Embedded Studio

Category: Software
Product Number: ADSP-SC594
Software Version: CCES 3.0.1

Hello, I am trying to write a basic program to test various interfaces targeting an ADSP-SC594.  I have installed CrossCore Embedded Studio and CrossCore Utilities.  I am trying to test basic connectivity using an ICE-1000 debug, but I am not able to select Emulator, or access the configurator in the Session Wizard.  The debugger's driver is correctly installed and shows up in Device Manager.  What else do I need to install?

  • Hi,

We are posting the response here for others benefits.

For EZ-Kits sold as a single board, the license gives appropriate connection capabilities to the board. For parts supported by a SOM and Carrier Board, the intention is that customers purchase both the SOM and Carrier Board, and so the kit license would give connection via the debug agent on the carrier board. The SOM/Carrier Board split is useful if you later come to buy a different SOM, in which case the carrier board could be re-used with the new SOM.

This information is also available on the product page at the following link:
    www.analog.com/.../ev-sc594-som.html

    The overview is as follows:
    1. SOM Only - Requires an ICE and a CCES license!
    2. SOM + Carrier - Allows the use of the debug agent (on the carrier) or JTAG (on the SOM) with a CCES license.

In your situation, you must either utilize an evaluation license or consider purchasing a full license. Alternatively, you can acquire the carrier board and utilize the EZ-KIT license included in the package.

An evaluation license can be obtained from CrossCore Embedded Studio, which offers a tool chain evaluation license the first time it runs. It can be activated once on a particular machine for 90 days.

Please refer the below FAQ to obtain evaluation license for CCES
